1. The Bible declares at least nine times that God stretches out the heavens, consistent with the concept that the universe is expanding (ex: Psalm 104:2).
2. The Bible declares that the earth floats on nothing, consistent with the modern discovery that the earth floats freely in space (Job 26:7).
3. The Bible declares the earth is round, spherical. This was confirmed 2,400 years after Isaiah spoke these words of God (Isaiah 40:22). The Bible inspired Columbus to sail around the world when everyone thought it was flat.
4. The Bible declares that the earth rotates and revolves, causing apparent sunrises and sunsets; something modern scientists found about 400 years ago (Job 38: 12,14).
5. The Bible declares that at rapture that some will be sleeping and some will be working - an obvious reference to a revolving earth with both day and night happening at the same time (Luke 17:34-36).
6. The Bible declares that the sun moves in space. Critics ridiculed and scoffed at these verses, until it was discovered that the sun travels through space at about 600,000 mph. (Psalm 19:5-6).
7. The Bible declares that creation was finished -once for all. This is exactly what the 1st Law of Thermodynamics says (Genesis 2:1).
8. The Bible declares that the earth is wearing out. This is the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics (law of increasing entropy). (Isaiah 51:6 and Ps 102:25-26).
9. The Bible says that light can be sent and then manifest itself as speech. This seems ludicrous until you realize that radio waves travel at the speed of light. The Bible declares that the stars sing. Ludicrous? Stars emit radio waves that are received on earth as a high pitch (Hebrew 1:11; Job 38:35; Job 38:7).
10. Key scientists of key disciplines believed in God and creation.
Physics: Newton; Faraday; Maxwell; Kelvin; Einstein
Chemistry: Boyle; Dalton; Pascal; Ramsay
Biology: Roy; Linneaus; Mendel; Pasteur
Geology: Steno; Woodward; Brewster; Agassiz
Astronomy: Kepler; Galileo; Herschel; Maunder
Kelvin, Pasteur, Einstein and Newton all stated that the order and design points to intelligent design and purpose and refutes random, spontaneous evolution.
11. Ecc. 1:7: All rivers run into the sea and yet it is never full. This points to the hydrologic cycle.
12. Ecc. 11:13 and Amos 9:6 talk about clouds filling and emptying on earth. This points to the water cycle.
13. Ecc. 1:6 talks about wind circuits. This is describing the science of air currents.
14. Psalm 8:8 talks about paths in the sea. The father of oceanography, Matthew Maury (1806-1873) took this verse and was determined to find them. He discovered warm and cold continental currents. An issue of great concern in today’s global warming climate in which man’s destruction and mismanagement of the environment is threatening to shut these currents down and thereby usher in global climatic disaster.
15. Jonah 2:6 declares that there are mountains on the bottom of the ocean floor. This is extensively confirmed during WWII by US Navy submarines charting maps.
16. Genesis 3:15 declares that woman has seed for childbearing. This was not common knowledge until a few centuries ago.
17. Leviticus 17:11 declares that the life of the flesh is in the blood. Until about 120 years ago, learned physicians were bleeding patients to treat disease, killing many of them.
18. Leviticus 15:3 talks about the need for running water to cleanse flesh and the need to wash clothes. Doctors used to wash their hands in a bowl of standing water and
surgeons used to proudly wear blood stained garments as they went from one patient to the next. Countless mothers in delivery, newborns, and surgical patients died from infections.
